Do I Need A Building Permit?

In general, you do not need a building permit to have a window well replaced with a similar sized well because it does not deal with the structure of your home. It is the responsibility of the home owner to check with their city building department to verify this for their specific job. We have not contacted every city in our working area, so we do not claim to have sure knowledge that a building permit is not needed.
