Rusted Window Buck

A window buck is the metal frame that goes around your basement window. In Davis and Weber counties in Utah, where Savage Window Wells primarily operates, most basement windows feature a window buck as part of a basement window system. The basement window system also includes a window well which is connected to the window buck with a few screws on each side of the well. Because of the problem that primarily lies in homes built between 1980 and 2005, wherein foundation rebar comes in contact with the window buck, the well and also the buck will rust out under these conditions. By removing the old, rusted window well, and correctly installing a new window well in a timely manner, some preservation of the buck can be achieved. If one waits too long, the buck can become significantly rusted.
